It’s only been two or three days since my last blog post, but I feel like I’ve been absent for ages! Life last week seemed to just pile up on me, and blogging was put on hold for a few days; meaning my usual post-every-single-day-sort-of-schedule, got kind of messed up.
But anyway, you may have seen from my Snapchat or Instagram (which always stay active by the way!) that I recently redid my whole workspace and bought a new desk. I’m so happy with how it turned out, that I thought I’d share some snaps of it with you guys today.
Sorry for the photo overload, but I felt it was needed! I absolutely love that my workspace is now a place of creativity, fun, bursts of colour and of course, functional. I bought a new desk from Amazon, with handy draws and a little shelving bit underneath, to keep all my art materials, journals, notebooks, stationery and whatever else I need on a daily basis.
I will show my drawers and the shelving area soon, but I’m still working out the best way to display and store things in them for now.
I also went a little mad on Blippo.com buying cute little trinkets to make the place look like a little kawaii hub of happiness. I’ve covered the wall in a range of prints, garlands, paintings, photographs and postcards. Oh, and sticky notes for my never ending to-do list of course. Many of the prints are my own work, and the cat/love heart garland is too! Others I’ve collected from other amazing artists and creators (I try tag them all on my Instagram photos!) or just from little shops where I find treasures. Having a wall like this, seeing my own work along with people I respect and admire; really inspires me! It shows me I am capable of achieving the things I want, and gives me motivation to keep going.
Since taking these photographs, I’ve added even more things to the wall too. More canvas paintings, another little garland, posters and a framed quote; ‘Throw kindness around like confetti’. I feel like this workspace will be constantly evolving!
One of the best things about this new space (apart from motivating me to work) is that I now have a lovely space to record creative Youtube videos! This is something I’ve wanted to do for ages, so I’m thrilled it’ll finally be happening soon. I’m hoping to do art videos, painting/drawing, cute little DIY things and showing my creative process with illustration a little more. I hope you guys will be watching!
Anyway, I hope you guys liked this little peep into where I’m working when I’m blogging and illustrating. Let me know what you think!
p.s. Sorry about the C**T card, but I think it’s brilliant.
