Roger & Gallet Aura Mirabilis Double Extract

Skincare is super important to me, because youth is important to me. I get panicky whenever I realise I’m not a teenager anymore, whenever a child refers to me as ‘that lady’ and when I see those bags under my eyes just don’t seem to be shifting. It’s a cruel, cruel world. I just wanna go back in time, be a moody emo teen again and not worry about ‘getting on a bit’.

However, life happens whether I like it or not; so I better get with the program! With that being said, you could say I’m a little obsessed with skincare. Gimme all the serums, moisturisers, oils, face masks and promises of reversing time. GIMME.

My latest skincare goodie came to me from those fab guys over at Escentual, sending the Roger & Gallet Aura Mirabilis Double Extract* to try out. My first impression was,… ‘what is this exactly?‘.

This neutral looking liquid comes in a pretty bottle and all, and upon super close inspection; it has tiny glittery aspects to it (only if you look at it against the light). Is it a serum? The word serum doesn’t seem to appear anywhere on the bottle or packaging; but I’d say this was the closest description I could give you. So it’s obvious I had no idea what to expect.

The handy thing about the Aura Mirabilis Double Extract is that once you take the lid off and turn it upside down; it releases the perfect amount of serum. One ‘dose’ worth, enough to apply to my face and neck perfectly without lots left over – perfect! However, I must say now I immediately didn’t like the feeling of the residue on my hands, and had to wash them straight after. On my face however? PERFECT. It sunk in within a moment or two, and left my skin feeling super nourished and soft. I was so happy! I’d been a little apprehensive and reserved with this product upon first impression, but after 3 weeks of using it daily I can confirm I’m now a huge fan!

If you’re looking for a daily wear product that is kind to skin, and gives a natural radiance; then this is the one for you. Packed with natural ingredients, this is a great introduction to anti-ageing products for people in their late twenties, like me, who are getting a little scared.

You can grab a very generous bottle of 35ml (trust me this will last ages) for just £34 from Escentual if you want to take your first awesome step into going back in time – OR treating your mum/nan/whoever this Christmas.

What about you guys, have you tried anything from Roger & Gallet yet?
