I’ve been wanting to get my hands on some Milani and L.A Girl makeup products, for AGES now! I’ve been seriously drooling over everyone else’s Instagram photos for what seems like the longest time, and now I can finally say I’ve started my own collection!
I was so very kindly sent some Milani and L.A Girl samples* from JustMyLook; and I’ve spent the last few weeks perfecting them into my everyday makeup routine. It’s always exciting trying out new makeup, but when you have some perfect little beauties that are instant faves – it’s even better!
Let’s start with Milani, because the two products I’ve been trying from them are both absolutely amazing!
The Milani Powder Blush is a rose gold lover’s DREAM in shade ‘Blossom Time Rose’. Peachy pink blush with a gold tone in the light, this is a truly beautiful addition to my collection (and has in fact become my favourite blush EVER!). The design is iconic, with the rose feature and sleek gold packaging; which makes it look really luxurious (and I’m always a sucker for pretty packaging).
Whether wearing a light, subtle layer on the apples of my cheeks for a warm glow, or a deeper rose layer for a more dramatic look; both really work well with my skin tone. I’m super pale, so it can be hard to find blushers that don’t make me look like a clown; but the Milani Powder blush does just the trick!
I was also instantly in love with the Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream in shade ’16 Sweetheart’, which I’m wearing in the following photo.
Apologies for the phone selfie – but as you can see this lip cream is an intense matte shade that gives a powerful pout! I am so, so happy with it, and it’s vibrant pink shade is going to be one I keep coming back to. It’s so full of moisture, even for a matte lip cream, which is so needed for me. My lips dry out really easily so I like something that gives a little nourishment.
I’ve been eyeing up other shades and I think ‘Fascination’ is next on my list!
I was also kindly sent out some goodies from L.A Girl – another brand I’m completely new to and keen to try.
Let’s start with the fave; the L.A Girl Strobe Lite Powder in ‘100 Watt’.
This baby is B-E-A-UUUUUTIFUL. Damn photo doesn’t do it justice, seriously. This golden highlighter is like a like beam of love! 100% GLOW.
Usually I go fo cool toned highlighters, I’m all about that ICE, ‘yknow? I just figured it looks better on my skin since I’m pale. So when this product arrived I was happy to try it, but assumed it wouldn’t look great on me. However, it’s SO so versatile! The warm gold shine makes me glow, like I actually have sunkissed skin for once! Yay! I’ve never been able to have a look like this, so I was so thrilled! This is going to be my go-to for Summer. It really POPS and is so so satisfying sweeping it across my cheekbones!
I also loved the L.A Girl Pro Prep HD Smoothing Face Primer; it actually came at a perfect time, because I’d just ran out of all my usual primers! I’ve used this one for the past 2 weeks straight, and really gotten to love it! A small amount goes a long way, it leaves a smooth matte effect on my skin, perfect for applying makeup onto – and it LASTS. My makeup, especially my eyes, lasted considerable longer and applied more evenly when using this primer, and I was definitely impressed with it.
The only product I didn’t love from L.A Girl, was the Pro Conceal HD Concealer. While it did the job, making my dark circles under my eyes lighter and smoother; I just didn’t find it helped avoid creases like my usual concealer would (Collection). It’s definitely one I’d be happy to use, but I just wasn’t totally in love with it unfortunately. However this is just me personally, and others may have more of an instant connection with this product!
Overall I was absolutely thrilled with the new products I got to try, and I’m already keen to test out some more from Just My Look. I love that they offer some brands I don’t see on my high street or that I usually get to try!
Have you guys tried any of these products from Milani or L.A Girl? 🙂
