It’s been 3 and a half years since I started this little blog of mine, and I’ve loved every single minute of it. There are things that have stayed the same since day one, and always will. But right now, there are a few little tweaks I’m also introducing, and I hope it’ll make this blog even better!
Yep, I’ve stuck to my word and really tried to share my creative side throughout my blog more. Sharing my Art supply loves and recommendations, tips for staying creative, and so much more. I promise you’ll have regular creative content on here now, for all those who love Art/craft/DIY!
2. Aff links and product recommendations
You may notice at the very bottom of this blog, just above my Instagram feed, is a new scrolling shopping widget. This is full of products chosen by me, which I think are amazing and are top of my wishlist. It means you can see what sort of things I’m loving, and even buy it for yourself if you wish. If you do buy something using my link, I earn a small commission (really, it’s tiny). It’s a fun way for me to recommend products and have a wishlist going, without bombarding you in my blogs. I’ve also started using Skimlinks, which automatically crawls my blog for products and things it can link. Again, this means some links may earn me a small commission if you use them. I thought it was about time I finally use affiliate links, since I’ve been blogging 3 and half years now. Thanks for the support!
3. Putting myself first
I’ve now taken such a different approach to my blog schedule and content, and I feel so much better for it. I’m still planning ahead using my spreadsheet and being super organised (yay), but I am now even choosier with my content. I’m relaxing a little with ‘life update’ posts and doing them as much as I like. I used to worry people would find these boring, but they’re some of my faves to do, so fuck it! The more the merrier. I’m even pickier these days with what samples I accept from brands too. I only want to feature things I LOVE on here now for product recommendations. I used to enjoy featuring a range of things, and giving honest opinions about products that weren’t great; and while this is awesome, I now ONLY want to concentrate on the products that are totally killing it. So this blog is full of happy, awesome things all the time. These are all my own preferences with how I want my blog to be, so I’m putting my needs first and I hope you guys still enjoy!
4. Beauty spending ban/makeup looks
I mentioned in a previous post that I’m not buying anymore makeup unless I REALLY love it and feel like I need it, and I’ve stuck to this! It feels good, and it’s making me appreciate my current (huge) collection that I already have. It’s also forcing me to get creative with makeup looks, and I’m so happy to share some of my fun experiments with you guys!
5. Supporting others
This is something I’ve always tried to do, but I really want to make it my focus now. I want to do regular blog posts recommending other bloggers, small businesses that are killing it, artists, etc. I’ll try to link and shout out to as many people, as often as I can, to share the love and show my appreciation. I hope you guys will help support other folk in the same way, as it makes this community ever better! To start, let me recommend Aycan from Little White Socks. She has the most fun, creative and uplifting blog ever, and it’s one of my favourites!
So there we have it; the five ways in which my blog is changing. I hope you guys enjoy! 🙂
