As a blogger we can often get sent quite a few things in the post from PR’s and brands looking for us to try their products; sounds great eh? But any blogger will tell you that this can be totally hit and miss, and even if you like a product; it takes a lot of time and hard work to photograph, review, promote each thing. That’s not a complaint, that’s just fact.
So for me personally, I try to be really picky about what I feature. Is it worth my time and work? Do I really love it? Is this something new or exciting I’d like to talk about? Is it a brand who have gone out of their way to make it special? A lot of thought goes into what I feature on this blog. Which is why from August, I decided to make a change about how I feature a lot of products on this blog. I’ll still have stand alone posts on particular products that I love and want to feature; but I’ll also have ‘Favourites In My Mailbox‘ posts every two or three weeks, like this one today. These posts will mean I’ve chosen a select few things I’ve been sent, that I think I’d like to chat about. I will not be featuring every single PR sample I’m sent and I will try bunch together a diverse range of products to feature in each of these posts.
I hope that sounds good to you guys – because I’m really excited about it! I’m thrilled to have this nice new feature on my blog, and I hope they become posts you look forward to. Plus, who doesn’t love a good peep inside blogger mail, eh?
Now – for our first one! I have been sent a few bits and bobs in the post this month that I was impressed by, including Happy Flair’s subscription box*.
Happy Flair is a company all about providing you with adorable and unique pins, patches, necklaces, stickers & more! They’re a sister company of Punky Pins (you know and love those guys too, right?) and they’re all about adding a little ‘flair’ to your clothing, bags and whatnot.
This is PERFECT for me in so many ways. A little bit because I’m a hoarder of unique and cute things, but MAINLY because I’ve recently started decorating my denim jacket with pins and patches; and I can’t get enough! Their sub boxes start from as little as £6 (yes really) and you can get a range of goodies each month straight to your door. I got the very much loved Clueless themed box which was sent out in July, and as a huge fan of the cult classic, I was ecstatic! I’m definitely going to get more boxes to keep adding things to my jacket (which will be featured on here soon!) and I can’t wait to see what else they come up with.
You may also notice in those photos is a beautiful Unicorn Tears bag* – eep! It was sent to me from Sammydress and I’ll be featuring it in an outfit post soon, but I couldn’t resist showing you guys it now too! IT’S SO CUTE. Definitely a favourite in my mailbox this month.
I was also pleasantly surprised to find August seen a few food and drink themed bits make their way into my faves.
I’ve mentioned Funkin Cocktails* on this blog before, and for good reason. I’m a bloody huge fan now! Whether I’m making cocktails or mocktails, these tasty drinks add a lil ‘oomph’ to each sip. My faves are the Hollywood and Strawberry Daiquiri ones.
My battle with losing weight still goes on, and apart from a minor slip last week (let me off, it was the girl gang event!) it’s going really well! It can be bloody hard though; finding tasty food that you don’t get sick of, and that doesn’t make you gain half a stone from simply looking at it, is tough. I’ve been munching on Naked Noodles* throughout August, and thank god for them! They’ve provided a yummy dinner/snack on the days where you really crave something more substantial than salad..again.
And my final fave this month is from Decorus Natural Skincare, who sent me out this amazing Coffee Skin Scrub*. I’ve not used a coffee scrub before, and was pleasantly surprised! You get enough in a pack to last ages, and it left me feeling squeaky skin and rejuvenated. Plus I was quite keen on the smell too! This was especially helpful for the parts of my face that suffer with dry skin.
And there we have it, my faves of the past month 🙂
I hope you guys enjoyed a peek into my mail, and I’ll be back again in about 2 weeks with another snippet of faves!
