I love any opportunity to have a chat with you guys, and if you can get to know me more in the process, winner! The lovely Lydia from What Lyd Did created her own tag; The ‘Tell Me More’ tag. It’s a bunch of interesting and nosey questions Lyd basically wanted bloggers to answer, and I thought it seemed so fun!
I never, ever do tags; but this seemed like one I could make an exception for. After all, who doesn’t fancy being really nosey?!
So here we go! –
What’s the story behind your blog name? When starting my blog; I knew I wanted a short and snappy title, something people could know me as and something unforgettable. I worried about choosing something that would look like I’m trying to seem ~cool~ – because I’m anything but cool! So I wanted people to immediately see I’m a dork, and I know it, so it’s ok. Thus, Dorkface was born.
What’s your real reason for blogging? I genuinely love creating. Seriously! I wish I could spill more T and give a juice answer, but I honestly love taking photos, writing posts, and creating a little schedule.
Best thing about blogging? Two things; the real friendships I’ve made, and the way it’s changed my life and career. I was a University drop out bouncing through one crappy retail job after another. And now I get to paint and write to earn a living. It makes me tear up every time I really think about it, because I’m so grateful.
Worst thing about blogging? The fucking bitchiness and drama on Twitter. CBA.
Proudest moment so far? Winning awards for my blog, and being able to meet and work with brands I’ve admired for years.
What are your ultimate blogging goals? Don’t be shy! I wouldn’t necessarily say blog goals; just life goals in general. Write a book (I know it’s cliche at this point, but it’s always been my dream), have various clothing, cushions and other fabric products using my paintings on them (think of the funky, bright dresses!), get my work in a gallery, take part in a photoshoot and finally get some self confidence, and get my stationery products in Paperchase! Oh the dreams.
If you released a book, what genre would it be? YA Fiction/Fantasy, and I already have my story. It’s awesome. I just need to finish it, ffs.
If you released products, what would they be? Homeware, beauty, or something unexpected? I love a little of everything! But I think my main focuses would be stationery, and creative tools/products for artists, crafters, DIY-ers, etc.
What would you name the products and why? It’d depend on the product! Maybe I’d just stick ‘Dorky…’ in front of everything, haha.
What has blogging taught you? Never, ever, ever give up.
Sum up your blog in three words!
Am I allowed to say inspirational? It’s what I TRY to make this blog all about, as I want to inspire everyone!
Thanks so much Lyd, this was so much fun!
Have you guys got any other questions for me? I’ll answer anything in the comments! 🙂
