I can’t believe we’re halfway through the year already, it’s going by so fast!
June is bringing more sunshine, and more lockdown restrictions easing, so I thought it was a good time to refresh things and make a new start.
I’d like to feel better each day, for both my mental and physical health; and I believe I can do this in really simple ways. So I thought I’d share them with you today.
1. Drink more water
Such a simple one, yes! But one that desperately needs to be on my list. Drinking more water keeps you healthier, gives you more energy, is great for your skin, and has loads more benefits. Yet for some reason everyday I forget to drink enough! And I enjoy water, so I’ve no excuse. To help make sure I’m drinking enough, I’ve downloaded an app that reminds me to drink often. I’ve also bought a huge water bottle which I fill up each morning, and I set myself the challenge of finishing it.
2. Increase my step count.
As someone who works from home, sitting at a desk; it can be incredibly hard to make sure I’m getting enough steps in. So I now have a fitbit to keep track. I’m being realistic about my goals since I have such a heavy work schedule, but it helps me keep an eye on things. If I’ve been sat at my desk for more than an hour without getting up, I make sure to take a break and get some steps in. This also helps take a break from screens too, so win win!
3. Changing my morning routine.
If I start my morning off right, it can help me feel good for the whole day. So from now on, I’d like to make a point to stick to a good morning routine. For me, this means; Drinking water and getting dressed as soon as I wake up, getting a good breakfast, writing my to do list for the day, and quickly tidying through the house so everywhere feels tidy before I start work. I hate working surrounded by clutter, so once my little boy has gone to daycare in the morning I’ll tidy after him and feel a bit more organised!
I really think just doing these 3 small things will help me feel better each day and put me in a better frame of mind while working from home. Let me know if you guys do anything similar, or if you have any tips!
