The title and image might seem a little wild, given that it’s only just turned July. But as a small business owner, I need to prepare months ahead of time for the next season of products on my shop.
While I do add new products every 2 weeks or so; Autumn is my biggest time of year for launching new things. It’s my favourite time of year, and it inspires me so much when it comes to designing products. This results in it being the hugest drop of products at once, throughout the whole year!
I’ll be launching many new things on September 1st this year, and it will include not only Autumnal themed goodies, but also Halloween ones. Within this range I plan to have notebooks, beanie hats, enamel pins, washi tape, art prints, stickers, patches, keyrings, tote bags, bookmarks, and MUCH MORE. There will easily be over 25 products all launching.
So while this is incredibly exciting and fun for me, it’s also the hardest time of the whole year. I have to create a massive amount of designs for these products, plan packaging and thank you cards, photography, promotion, and all the other little aspects that go into a launch. And because many of these products can take a long time in production (for example; enamel pins take 4 weeks to make, and beanie hats can take up to 7 weeks!), – it also means I have to have the designs finished, the funds available to order them, and have them all ready and sent off into production by mid- late July, so that they arrive by late August. Then I should have a short amount of time to photograph them and prepare them for launch on September 1st!
As you can tell, this is a massive job! I absolutely love it though and it really is my favourite time of year.
So that’s what I’m working on right now! Products for Halloween – in July!!
