Pinterest Home Decor Inspiration*

7th February 2017

If you follow my Pinterest, you’ll know I’m pretty obsessed with homeware and decor. Interiors have always been prominent on my boards, but since we have been preparing to move into our new house; oh maaannn I’ve gone wild.

I have plenty of inspiration for every single room in the home, and I’m really keen on particular colour schemes. I’m a huge fan of pastel colours, clean white tones, blush shades and copper combinations. Working out how to pick and choose these and ‘build up’ the room however, is a process. One I’m sure that’ll be easier when we move and I’m actually THERE in the room; but I can’t help but plan. It’s in my nature!

I really want each room to have a range of textures, accessories and features to really feel like a home, rather than just some simple furniture placed inside. All the finishing touches make a really big difference I think!

Homeware and decor pieces I’d like to feature;

Blankets/throws/cushions everywhere- I seem to be obsessed with buying cute cushions, and having a range of them in different textures can make any sofa pop with personality. Throws and blankets make a living room seem cosier too!

Plants and foliage – Whether big leafy features or small shelf size plants, each bring real life to a room; and they can basically look nice anywhere!

Artwork – A pretty print adds a little personality to any nook and cranny, especially gold foil ones which add the most ‘princessy’ of textures. I personally love anything inspiring, and you can grab some amazing quote prints off Etsy in a range of sizes, and support small biz too!

Luxury curtains  – A beautiful set of curtains can really frame the room, even if you never close them! Brights, pastels, or quirky patterns breathe life into each room and can compliment the decor beautifully; like these eyelet curtains from Julian Charles* (I’m favoring the luxury duck egg shade myself!). Julian Charles are promoting their #NotCompleteWithout campaign at the moment, celebrating all the extra things a room needs to shine when exploring decor. Which is why they asked me to contribute with my own ideas about what extra textures and accessories my own home wouldn’t be complete without!

Wall hangings – Love, love, love wall hangings! But you don’t have to assume that automatically means a boho style, if that’s not your thing. I personally adore pastel pom pom hangings, handmade mobiles (think modern pieces over a chic desk) and those shiny tassel bunting features I keep seeing on Etsy. SO CUTE. I’ve already bought a bunch in prep for the new house, and I can’t wait to show you guys!

What about you guys? What textures, accessories and features do you think a room is #NotCompleteWithout ?
Let me know, and as always, please do send me recommendations on great homeware stores, hehe! (Yes, enable me, please.)

This post was in collaboration with Julian Charles, and I can assure you 100% of these words and opinions are my own. Thanks guys! 🙂

    I am obsessed with interiors! My only advice (two houses in, both fully renovated) is to live in each room a little to find what you actually need. I have bought and sold so many pieces from rushing into it!
