Getting up on a Sunday morning to write these type of weekly catch up posts, are now one of my favourite things. I’m currently sat in bed still under the blankets, with a latte beside me and a cat purring by my feet. Sundays are now one of my favourite days, and reflecting on the week gone by is pretty nice.
Life lately has been up and down. I finally have a laptop though, yaaay! So it’s been a mad rush for me catching up on all the work I had to delay while my old one was broke. It’s been a mixture of stress, inspiration and motivation to eb honest; which I guess is my standard mode anyway.
Luckily, a creative burst of energy has seen me through, and I’ve been creating a new series of artwork just for me. I’m creating fun, weird, wonderful collage art and absolutely loving it. I have no idea what I could use them for, if anything, but at the moment I’m just happy to focus on creating them just for myself and seeing where it leads. My family visited last week, and it was so damn nice to see them after 3 months of being apart. I got to show them all around Plymouth, take hikes through the woods, enjoy celebrating together and basically just hang out for a few days. It felt really nice to take time away from social media and enjoy the little things.
I’ve been reading more than ever too lately, which is so helpful for my mental health. I have finished Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, and I’m now reading my first ever Agatha Christie novel (then I’ll hop back to HP!). Reading at least a few pages every single day helps me to slow down, relax and not get so caught up in the madness of work.
This week I was by some miracle sent the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette – OH MY GOD. I was so shocked and grateful that one of my favourite brands even noticed me, so it was amazing to be treated so greatly. I’ve spent every single day this week creating looks using the palette, and I cant wait to show you guys! I have a post coming tomorrow sharing my first impressions, swatches, and some photos I’m really proud of. Then next week, I’ll be posting some makeup looks using it too!
Other good things this week included Soap and Glory tweeting out about loving my Etsy shop/artwork (wow!), treating myself to some Pusheen pjs and fairy lights (you can never have too many) and creating a super glittery makeup look that I’m really happy with.
