Autumn
I love to mix it up between striking, powerful makeup and simple, easy everyday looks. I especially love browsing Instagram for beauty inspo, there are so many amazing MUA’s that always post wonderful makeup I wouldn’t have dreamed of trying otherwise.
I thought today I’d share one of my go-to looks lately, that has been inspired by Ellisons* who have put together an awesome Autumn/Winter Beauty Trends guide over at https://www.ellisons.co.uk/beauty.html.
I absolutely love the Metallic Grunge trend, as this is something I am always drawn to when it comes to eyewear looks. I am no master of a deep, dark smokey eye; but I can certainly dabble with grunge tones in a range of metallic shades. I also think this really compliments my hair colour at the moment too!
I decided I wanted my makeup look to be somewhere in-between striking, and everyday natural. So I’ve used metallic shades, and a cats eye flick eyeliner which I totally think anyone could get away with everyday, AND a very daring blue lip. Because it’s me, and you all know I LOVE anything colourful and vibrant, so I had to inject that into this look a little. I was thinking if I’d had a metallic blue it would have been even better, so feel free to recommend me some!
I used my Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette to get the perfect metallic shades; using a mix of ‘Amor’ and ‘Radar’. I then used my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner for that perfect lined lid, and my GOSH metallic eyeshadow stick for a hint of a gold line underneath my eyes.
If you’re like me you’ll want to add a teeny tiny little silver star to the outer corner of each eye too, just for that extra special touch! If you’re not brave enough for a blue lip, I reckon a silver, grey or muted mauve colour would also look beautiful!
I’m so grateful to Ellison’s for challenging me and inspiring a new look for this season; as this has now become my favourite look no matter what I’m doing! Let me know what you think, and what looks you’ll be trying for Autumn/Winter beauty? 🙂
