Life This Week

19th November 2017

Another week gone by, another Sunday where I question where the time has gone. It feels like the air is at it’s chilliest and I’m at my tiredest at the moment. Every day this week I’ve had to drag myself to my desk to get to work, and even then I’ve gone at a snail’s pace and struggled to keep my eyes open. I’m not getting the best sleep if truth be told guys. My sinuses are really giving me hell at the moment, and it’s so hard to breathe through what feels like teeny tiny nostrils at night lying down. I’ve made an appointment at the doctors though, and had some nasal spray recommendations, so let’s hope things improve soon! I need my sleep damnit!

In other news, I’ve been working on some really fun new things this week. Like writing for Treatbox new blog, yay! You might have seen me tweeting about this; but basically Treatbox have launched a blog to accompany their amazing website and shop, and I’m writing a few pieces for them. This means the world to me, because I’ve been such a fan of Treatbox for the longest time, AND getting paid to write and chat to you guys is the BEST THING EVER. So pop over and check it out, please?!

I’ve also been drawing up some cute imagery to be made into stamps for Mama Makes! I was very kindly asked if I’d like to contribute some of my illustrations, and I’ve been working on a super cute set this week. So very soon, you’ll be able to buy a stamp set that I myself have designed – yay!

As well as outside ventures, I’ve also been creating things this week for my own Etsy store of course. I’m always trying to bring new and exciting things to the shop for you guys, and I hope you’ll like all the newbies I’ve added!

I created some colourful bookmarks (example shown above!) from my abstract paintings, and added cute pom poms onto them, as a bonus! I think they’re really fun, and it’s a great stocking filler gift for any bookworm!

I’ve also created a whole range of new artwork and prints, AND I’ve been exploring different drawing styles. This means I’m now open for custom portraits like the ones shown below! I’m so excited about this, and I’d love to draw some of you guys, so please consider buying one. You get both the digital version AND print sent out to you, and you can use code DORKFACE10 to get 10% off it too!

Anyway, it’s been a creative week is my point!

I’ve been reading a lot, and just finished the newest Harry Hole novel by Jo Nesbo (one of my fave detective series!). Feel free to add me on Goodreads if you wanna know what other things I’ve been reading, and keep an eye out because I’m gonna write up a ‘5 Fave Reads This Year’ sort of post on here soon too.

Our lovely white Christmas tree arrived this week, and I can’t wait to put it up. We’ll be decorating it with all pink decorations, fairy lights, and the odd Disney ornament; so it’ll be super girly. We go to London on the 27th (only for one night) and I think we’ll put up our tree when we get back! I’ll be sure to share some very girly Christmassy photos.

And finally this week I wanted to RAVE to you guys about this new skincare range called Bilou which is now at Superdrug. I got sent these products for free a few weeks ago, but I haven’t been asked to write about them or feature them. I’ll be honest I weren’t even sure I was going to feature them anyway, BUT OMG I HAD TO. The range is bloody amazing! As well as having pretty packaging and the most fun, epic scents EVER; they really are great quality.

If you try nothing else (but seriously, try it all!) then I IMPLORE YOU to give the Gentle Cream Foam a go (especially in the cotton candy scent!). You only need a small amount which foams up quickly and as soon as you’re spreading it across your skin, it’s sinking in with no greasy residue over. It’s gone, like magic! I sweat god guys, you have to try this. It left me feeling super soft and dreamy, and I didn’t have that greasy, sticky hand situation afterward. This is now my FAVE.

I’m also a huge fan of the shower cream and body sprays, because they all smell so good, but the cream body foam is the ultimate perfect product I’d recommend over and over.

Y’know just in case anyone cares.

Anyway, I’m off to indulge in some hot chocolate now, because it’s Winter and it’s ALLOWED.

Toodles! x
