I’m a few days late with this post, which gives you a little clue into how I’m doing lately. I’m not on my usual game, as I feel run down and so, so exhausted all the time! But everything is going great, I’m working on a secret project for a BIG company and it’s the most thrilling thing I’ve done in ages! I can’t wait to share it with you guys. It’s meant a lot of staring at this computer for hours, sketching, working away on illustrations, and generally forgetting to eat. But it’ll all be worth it!
I had a lovely Easter, in that I took a few days off since they were so needed, and I actually didn’t eat any eggs! I do have one, that I haven’t really bothered with tbh. The best part of Easter weekend was catching up with my friend Corinna, who is an amazing photographer. I’ve always had a rocky relationship being in FRONT of a camera, but she made me feel so relaxed, and we had fun! So we got a great set of photographs, and I’m so happy I did it! I’ll definitely be hiring her in the future to get some more snaps, and really trying to get out of my comfort zone.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to achieve during the month of April, and I decided to jot some ideas down to keep me motivated. They’re small goals, but small steps make big changes! 🙂
5 Mini Goals For April
1. Hit my step goal everyday.
Working from home is great, but it means I have to be stuck at a computer or desk for hours upon hours, which is really not good for me. I’m not expecting miracles each day, but I want to at least stick to a decent step count to make sure I’m getting outside, getting fresh air, and stretching my legs out.
2. Make myself a priority.
It sounds so indulgent, but I just really want to take more notice of what I want and need. Whether it’s a day off, an early night, a day to hang out with friends, a day of painting; I’ll just go for it! I want to treat myself when needed, look after myself more, and try to really relax.
3. Sell a painting.
This is one of my big goals for the whole year, to sell a painting every month. I have no financial focus, and it doesn’t matter on the subject or type of painting. I simply want to keep myself creative and motivated, and it would be amazing to achieve this goal for 2018. So I need to make time to paint, and hopefully tempt you guys into buying one of my canvas works! 🙂
4. Explore my wardrobe a little.
As you will have noticed if you follow me on Instagram, I’ve started posting outfit photos and getting braver in front of the camera. This is purely to improve my confidence, and to let go of deep insecurities (if possible). However it would also be fun to use this as an excuse to jazz up my wardrobe a little. I’m not talking about going on a shopping spree, I simply want to make more of an effort by wearing different things, putting together outfits I may not have tried before, and getting out of my comfort zone. My latest favourite find though, is this coat which is super comfortable, pretty, and can be styled so many different ways!
5. Send a care package.
I’ve had friends send me handwritten letters, flowers and just little gifts over the past few months; and it’s reminded me of how lovely it is to receive surprise mail! Even if it’s just something small, I hope to spend time putting together a little care package for someone this month, who I think may really need an extra smile. It’s so much fun, and lets people know you care!
