In the past 6 months, I’ve begun to love myself a lot more than I ever have before; and I’ve made huge progress in appreciating the body I have, rather than wishing for another. It’s changed so much about my life and really affected my mental health for the better, so I’m really pleased with how far I’ve come.
It can be tricky sometimes though. If you aren’t stick thin, shopping on the high street can be a little disheartening. Even if you do find a plus size brand, it’s so hard to find anything that you actually LIKE. I’m tired of seeing cold shoulder tops, ugly tunics and jarring butterfly prints splashed across clothing as if it’ll do.
So when Elvi got in touch with me and asked me to try a piece or two from their range, I was so pleasantly surprised to see what they had on offer. Browsing their Premium Collection alone, I found beautiful outfits, stylish pieces and a whole range of sizes catering to a wider range than I’m used to for such pretty clothes.
I decided to try out the Ruffle Sleeve Playsuit* as I thought it looked really cute, and the soft pastel shades appealed to me instantly! I’ve found it a fantastic staple to my Spring collection already, and have enjoyed how comfortable and flattering it feels on me. I enjoyed dressing it down with casual flat shoes, but this also looks great with ankle boots for a dressed up look. The ‘pulled in’ stretch waist fit means the fabric moves with you rather than squishing you in, and gives you a great waist rather than feeling like you’re in a baggy, unflattering all in one.
I also decided to opt for the Faux Leather & Lace A Line Mini Skirt* which instantly got my attention. I love how there’s something a little edgier in the collection, catering to different styles! I love the fit and style of the skirt, and I REALLY felt good wearing this. I enjoyed teaming it with a casual, day to day look with Vans and a tee; but I also tried it with a blouse and ankle boots and found it perfect for the evening. And I’m all for faux leather options too!
I’m so pleased to see such a beautiful brand branching out into different styles and sizes, making it easier and much more enjoyable to shop. A huge thanks to Elvi, as I really am so pleased with my new pieces!
