I love buying stationery and Art supplies more than clothes. I’d prefer to browse notebooks, marker pens and paints for hours than spend more than 20 minutes in Primark, if I’m honest. I have cupboards, drawers, boxes and shelves all dedicated as space for all my stationery needs, and buying Art supplies is a natural, everyday part of my job (a total bonus, if you will).
So when The Works* offered me the chance to spend a voucher in one of their stores to treat myself; I was absolutely delighted! I had £50 to spend and it’s somewhere I know and love already, so I knew it’d be easy to find lots of goodies I’d love.
In total I came away with the following;
2 Sets of 3 art canvases
2 Packs of wash paint brushes (packs of 3)
1 Pack round brushes (6 pack)
2 Rolls of luxury gift wrap
A4 Pastel pad
5 Piece palette & knife set
10 Scribbilicious double end markers
1 Large notebook
1 Box of 32 oil pencils
1 Pack of felt craft embellishments (pineapples)
1 Pack of 10 colourful paper tapes
1 Crawford and black silver acrylic paint
1 Crawford and black gold acrylic paint
I was so pleased I managed to get not only some Art and Craft supply essentials for work, but a bunch of fun stationery treats too!
A lot of people ask me where I get my Art supplies, especially when it comes to painting; and The Works is always my first stop. Not only do they have everything I need all in one place; but they do such bargain prices too. I prefer synthetic brushes for painting, and always stock up on these in both flat straight brushes, and round tip brushes. You really can’t deny their canvas and acrylic paint prices are amazing too, and the quality is just as good as anywhere else that I’ve tried!
I was so happy to see that they had Oil pencils in stock, as I’ve been meaning to buy some for the longest time. I don’t think I’ve used any since I left College years ago, and they’re such a great Art staple to have in. I have been using these so far in my own sketchbook, within collages, and on top of some of my acrylic paintings. The pigmentation is wonderful, and there’s a wide variety of shades in each pack.
Within my haul, I couldn’t resist picking up some blogging essentials too! I’m really upping my game lately and sorting out my schedule, planning future posts, and trying to make this place even better than ever; so a big chunky (and cute!) notebook with a bunch of colourful markers were must-haves!
I can’t believe how much I managed to buy for just £50; my bag home was huge and needed it’s own seat on the bus! I absolutely love The Works and I’m so grateful they’ve helped support my Art and Stationery addiction! 🙂
